DVS has been consistently participating in various Industry
events. To carry on the momentum, DVS participated in the
recently concluded annual event Indian Retail Forum 2009
organized by Images Retail (Sept 16th-17th, 2009) in Mumbai.
With both operational and aesthetic aspects of retail evolving
into a science in more ways than one, technology is necessarily
playing out a dominant role in managing the complexities of
modern day commerce. Technology subsumes every aspect of
operational verticals – sourcing, warehousing, retail store
management – and makes a telling difference on profit margins.
We showcased some of our most popular products/solutions that
are changing the face and back-end of retail technology in line
with consumer expectations and optimizing fast-paced shopping
paradigms.
Commenting on the event, Ms. Reshma Nagpal, Associate Director -
International Marketing, Dynamic Verticals Solutions said,
“This year IRF
was a fantastic platform through which DVS met a number of
like-minded visionaries who shared our ethos of quality driven
collaboration. Our suite of solutions on Microsoft Dynamic
platform generated much interest from delegates." We look
forward to adding value to these businesses through our domain
expertise and internationally renowned best practices."
she added.
The concluding session, which was the grand finale of the India Retail Forum (IRF' 09) had the honchos of
the retail industry
coming together on a common platform. The session included
Vinod Sawhny, COO, Bharti Retail, Amit Burman, VP Dabur,
Mehul
Choksi, Chairman Gitanjali Group, Rakesh Biyani, Director
Pantaloon Retail,
TS Ashwin, MD Odyssey,
Gorden Reid COO of Star
Bazaar,
Kabir Lumba, ED Lifestyle and
Promod Arora from PVR.
The main anchors of the session, Vikram Bakshi,
MD Mc Donald's and B S Nagesh,
Chairman IRF 09 & Vice Chairman,
Shoppers Stop
tried to trace
out what lies in the future of retail in the coming years. While
the panelists shared their views and their experiences during
the last few challenging months, a whole new dimension opened
for the retail fraternity to revise the key learning from it.
Talking about the growth rate of the Indian retail B.S Nagesh
says, "Aptly
themed ‘Retail for India Tomorrow’, IRF intends to prepare
us for a better tomorrow.
There is opportunity, there is growth. And it is
good to see that retail professionals are now realising that
competitive harmony and trust is the key to growth." But
he also cautioned the retail professionals to remain rooted to
the fundamentals of retail . "We have to look for
profitable growth but we should not forget the fundamentals of
retail." he says..
Overall good platform for information exchange and networking!!
